| This year’s Bristol’s IDAHOT day will be held the weekend after the official IDAHO date, the 17th May, because the 10K half-marathon will take over the whole of Central Bristol City, the previous weekend. |
We chose Queen Square this year, because College Green was booked; it is a brilliant venue, intimate and glorious if the weather’s with us. If you don’t know where it is, just make your way to the City Centre, all the way to where the steps go down to the water. Facing the water, crossing over Princes street, you will see what is arguably the most elegant square in Bristol.
Tree-lined and criss-crossed by four paths, with a statue in the centre, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding the stage.
Speakers for the LGBT community will take the stage, and everyone’s invited to come and take the open mike, speak against homophobia and give testimony of your experiences.
Bring a picnic, whistles and, to be on the safe side, some waterproofs a hat and shades.
