Experience in bid writing, facilitation, writing strategies, work plans and business plans is desirable, as is a good understanding of the Bristol Voluntary and Community Sector and the issues faced by LGBT+ people.
Details can be found below.
Please submit an expression of interest, detailing experience and previous projects, and a CV to email@example.com by Wednesday 18th September 12 Noon.
Successful parties will be notified by email on Tuesday 24th September to attend an interview with a small panel on Friday 27th September.
LGBT Bristol has formerly been funded to provide Services, and Voice and Influence by Bristol City Council. As the only LGBT organisation on the ground, the charity has always worked to support as many LGBT+ people and enquiries as it can, often working outside the scope of the funding due to others need, and always firefighting due to the excessive demand on such a small charity. For the future we have the opportunity to self determine the work and position of LGBT Bristol due to the funding bids we are now making. We need to develop a new strategy and redefine our purpose so that we can effectively cope with demands and expectations.
Purpose of the consultancy
LGBT Bristol requires a consultant to take the charity to the next stage of development, by enabling good working relations with both staff and trustees, and those in working collaborations, such that all work to the best of the skills available and ensure that where lacking, training and development opportunities for all are sought and funded.
More specifically we require the consultant to:
A. Through facilitated sessions, enable Staff and Trustees to creatively work together, so they are well-placed to undertake projects and to tender for future contracts and grants.
B. Work with LGBT Bristol on their contribution to a Big Lottery funding bid for collaborative work to support LGBT+ people in the West.
C. Produce 5 year strategy with work plan for development and fundraising, and a business plan.
Funding for this position will cover the consultancy fees which should include consultant travel costs. Venue costs will be met by LGBT Bristol.
We need the consultant to start working with us as soon as possible.
The consultant will report to the Board of Trustees at LGBT Bristol, attending Board Meetings as required, and meet LGBT Bristol Trustee’s and Collaboration Organisation staff and Trustees as/if required.
Consultancy funding and delivery
The consultant will be paid £5,000 for their time in achieving the outcomes above.
The outcomes must be delivered by 31st March 2020 as per the funding specification from The LGBT Consortium.
