Donations

Currently LGBT Bristol is not in a position to help other organisations with our own money, as we are no longer receiving core funding, but we use the donations that we receive to fund projects, help unfunded LGBT+ groups and unfunded LGBT+ events by running a donations pot.

If you are interested in supporting this work please contact sarah@lgbtbristol.org.uk.  We can supply a donations invoice for your accounts for any monies you wish to donate.

If you are interested in applying for funds from the pot please contact sarah@lgbtbristol.org.uk, telling us the nature of your event or need, and the cost, and this information will be taken to Trustees for a decision at their next meeting.

For transparency, and in line with our policies, we can only use the money to pay for invoices – this can be an invoice which needs paying or an invoice that you have paid already and we are reimbursing you. Our finances are overseen annually by Bristol Community Accountancy Project.

Donations have been received from the following groups and organisations who kindly held events to raise money:

  • Bristol Sunset Cinema
  • DHP Family (Run nights at the Thekla)
  • LGBT Plus (Bristol City Council LGBT+ employee group)
  • Honest Burgers
  • Loose Cannon
  • No Way Back
  • People Scout

From the pot we have supported the following :

Trans Pride South West – Bristol based annual event celebrating and supporting Trans+ people in South West – funds to pay for the hire of the main hall at the Station

Pride WithOut Borders – support group for LGBT+ asylum seekers – funds to pay for publicity tee-shirts for Pride

KiKi – LGBT+ social and support group for People of Colour and their allies – funds to pay for a venue for a monthly event

Hidayah – social and support group for LGBT+ Muslims – funds to pay for publicity

OutStories – local LGBT History Group – funds to pay for their table at Bristol Pride 2019

LGBT Bristol – funds to pay for  our table in the community tent at Bristol Pride 2019 (we are currently unfunded for core work)
