Q&A panel discussion

Networking and drinks after Q&A

PROUDbristol‘s June event will be taking place in UK law firm TLT’s client suite with its stunning views across Bristol.

This is TLT’s first LGBT+ event with PROUDbristol and it’s going to be a cracker. As LGBT+ and straight allies, we all have our stories of how we got to where we are and what helped us on the way. Now, as adults, we can look back and consider critically what would have made our journey easier.

This frames the topic of TLT’s event which will include a talk followed by a panel discussion and Q&A regarding how the LGBT+ community can help LGBT+ youths today.

The evening will kick off with a talk from Special Constable Cairn Newton-Evans BEM from Dyfed-Powys Police. Cairn will be talking about a homophobic attack he endured as a teenager and how this experience inspired him to enter the police force to affect change from within.

A second talk will be from Off the Record who are TLT’s designated charity for 2019 in Bristol. They are a local charity dedicated to supporting the mental health of young people and have a particular programme – called Freedom Project – which focuses specifically on the mental health of LGBT+ youths, their LGBT+ identity and how the two may interrelate.

After the talks, we’ll move on to a panel discussion where we will be accepting questions from the audience about supporting LGBT+ youths.

After the Q&A, TLT have graciously provided drinks and catering for networking and chit-chatting after the event.

A big thank you in advance to TLT for kindly hosting and catering for this event.
