We received the email below and the paper attached from Eleni Demetriou, Honours graduate in Psychology from UWE, Bistol. Her paper is an important study for LGBT families and communities everywhere. We thank Eleni for giving her permission to preview her study here and to share her findings with all.
I am emailing to thank you for helping me recruit participants for my final year dissertation project titled. Find attached the dissertation for you to have a read if you are interested.
Apologies for not sending the dissertation earlier; it’s just that I was waiting for the project to get marked and I am happy to say that it got a 1st (otherwise known as an A).
The findings have many political and social implications for LGBT families. As adult children of LGT parents we have the right to talk about our families and screen out the discrimination that affects both us and our families. Studies such as this one are a good starting point for the rise of a more egalitarian and discrimination free society.
Additionally, my supervisor has recommended to give in the study for publication after she writes it up.
